GRLLEN has developed a new comparison table of VET in Schools and School-based Traineeship programs in Community Services & Health area operating in the Geelong region.
The Community Services & Health industry sector employs 12% of Australia’s workforce and is predicted to grow by a further 16% by 2018. Between 2000 & 2014, the Community Services sector grew by a massive 80% nationally.*
At a local level, the sector employs even more people (15% currently) and is set to grow as Geelong becomes a hub for social insurers such as the NDIS, TAC and WorkSafe and the opening of new or expanded hospitals (Epworth, University Hospital/Barwon Health, St John of God).
This comparison table of VET in Schools and School-based Traineeship programs in Community Services & Health area shows those operating in the Geelong region. (There are a couple of other programs being offered in the region for the first time and they are not yet included.)
Click to see this publication which is designed to provide an easy comparison to assist coordinators, teachers, parents and students.
Ultimately, it is hoped that young people find the right course and transition through school and beyond to work in this burgeoning sector.
